Tout a commencé en 2003 quand un des potes de Sub Focus a donné un cd gravé avec pour tout contact un numéro de téléphone gribouillé en vitesse à Andy C, patron du label Ram records et plus gros dj du circuit drum and bass.
S'en est suivi une collaboration fructueuse avec le label et la sortie de plusieurs maxis ravageurs, dont X-ray et Aeroplane qui sont devenus des anthems quasi instantanément. Son remix de Smack my Bitch up de Prodigy a fini par mettre tout le monde d'accord!
2009 a vu la sortie de son premier album, Sub Focus, mélange de sa touche imparable lorsqu'il s'agit de produire des morceaux irrésistibles drum and bass et du virage qu'il amorce vers des tempos moins rapides.
It all started in 2003 when a friend of Sub Focus gave a demo CD (with a contact number scribbled onto the cover) to Ram Records boss, and the biggest drum and bass DJ in the world, Andy C. Impressed by the quality of the production, Andy, after a few tries, managed to dial the right digits and talk to Sub Focus. What followed was a fruitful partnership and the release of several major singles such as ‘X-Ray’, ‘Airplane’ and a remix of the Prodigy hit ‘Smack my Bitch Up'. Following his meteoric rise to fame early on in the drum and bass circles, 2009 saw Sub Focus crack the UK Top 40 singles chart for the first time with ‘Rock It’.
